Fairy Stump
Walking along the edge of the lake, upon the bend where the shady side began to turn into the sunny side, a hit of sunlight broke through the branches and landed on a nurse stump, making the whole thing look like it was lit from within like a distant metropolis.
The walk around the upper mountain lake on Orcas Island is one of the most enchanted places I’ve ever been in - beautifully quiet and the ground covered in green - things I’m only used to seeing in fairy tales.
